Rob McDermand, Associate Athletic Director for Academic Services at Stephen F. Austin State University was the guest speaker at a recent noon meeting of the Rotary Club of Nacogdoches. Mr. McDermand’s program detailed the many academic talents and accomplishments of the athletes at SFA. The program was very impressive and appreciated by all in attendance.
 
Amanda Winfield, Community Liaison Officer at Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, Zack Daniel, General Manager of Lumberjack Sports Properties at Stephen F. Austin State University and Tyler Boone, Director of Athletic Development at Stephen F. Austin State University were introduced as new members of the club.
 
Maelys Michel, 2017-2018 Incoming Rotary Youth Exchange Student from Normandy, France was a special guest of the club.
 
Dr. Arthur Speck, Chairman of the Rotary Skeet Shoot provided an update on the upcoming event planned for Saturday, October 28th at the Nacogdoches Skeet Club and Bob Dunn, Co-Chairman of the Jack McCullough Memorial Meet the Lumberjacks and LadyJacks Basketball Fish Fry provided an update on the upcoming event planned for Tuesday, October 24th. Milton Moorer, Chairman of the club’s Adopt-a-Highway Trash Pickup program made the announcement of the club’s upcoming Saturday workday on Highway 7 West. The Adopt-a-Highway program has been a Rotary service project for over 20 years making it one of the club’s most tenured projects.
