The Reverend Dr. Jeff McDonald, senior pastor at First United Methodist Church, was the speaker at the Wednesday, November 22, 2017, noon luncheon meeting of the Rotary Club of Nacogdoches.

Reverend McDonald provided the annual Thanksgiving message to the club. 
 
United States Military Academy Cadet Lieutenant Haley Duke was a special guest of the club and provided an address to express her appreciation and thanks for sponsorship of her attendance in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award Program (RYLA).  RYLA is a leadership program coordinated by Rotary International and is designed to allow participants to discuss and learn leadership skills through practice.  Haley is an Academic Distinguished Cadet at West Point and is a Rhodes Scholar Finalist majoring in Nuclear Engineering.  She will be West Point’s first Astronautics graduate in May 2018.  Upon graduation, Haley will be commissioned as an Army Aviation Officer and is planning to lead Earth’s Mission to Mars in 2035.
